Privacy, kept simple.

Hegster Games is a browser game showcase and a place for student creations.

Playing and browsing

The showcase does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If you save favourites, game IDs are stored in this browser’s local storage. You can clear them by clearing this site’s data. Games open on their own websites and may have their own privacy and storage practices.

Little Rivals private rooms

Online play stores the room code, board, moves, scores, player credential hashes and expiry time on our server for up to 24 hours. Your player credential stays in this tab’s session storage so you can refresh and reconnect. Invitation links contain the room code, which lets one friend join; keep it between the two of you. Leaving closes the room for both players, and its stored state is deleted when it expires. No account or player name is needed. Local play stays in your browser.

Student submissions

We store your game files and revisions, artwork, title, description, instructions, category, chosen creator name, submission dates, and teacher feedback. Your teacher reviews submissions before publishing. Use a nickname or team name and keep personal information out of your files. The upload form does not request an email address or full name. Your private game link lets anyone holding it read shared feedback and send revisions, so keep it private. Only a hash of that link’s code is stored. Opening it keeps the code in this tab’s session storage until you close the private session. Private teacher notes stay in the owner dashboard.

Hosting

Cloudflare hosts this website and processes connection information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect it. Upload attempts are rate limited, and operational logs may be retained by Cloudflare. Student games run on separate subdomains.

Changes and removal

Students should contact their teacher to request a correction or removal. Teachers manage publication and can remove a game from the public arcade and collections. Unpublishing retains files, past revisions, feedback, and review records privately; ask your teacher about deleting stored work.
